DSL fix - Internet works for some sites but not for others

Problem: Here are some common sites that were not loading for some users: www.msn.com, www.mapquest.com, www.walmart.com, www.microsoft.com, www.calbears.com

Fix: need to set the MTU value to 1452. Here is how to do that for Windows (98, XP). (Vista does not need this)

1) Click on the link below. This will download a program (ignore the warnings to download it - its safe). Save it to your Desktop so you can find it when done.
http://www.speedguide.net/files/TCPOptimizer.exe

2) Double click the file you just downloaded to your desktop - TcpOptimizer.exe,  to run it. Warning: Do -not- change anything else other than the values provided or it could cause system errors and only a reinstall would fix it. (We are not responsible )
3) Follow the image below to guide you.

4) When you click Apply another box pops up. Click OK to do it. It will ask if you want to Reboot, which means re-start your PC. Choose Yes/OK.
Your computer will shutdown and restart. Try something like www.google.com first, then one of the suspect sites ( www.msn.com ). Should be working now.

Cheers!
