Manually setup your computer to connect to AT Secure Net
Prerequisite:
You must first have a modem, or a LAN connection to a computer that
you share a modem with.
Click Start/
Settings/ Control Panel/ Network.
Click the 'Configuration' tab.
(If TCP/IP is already an entry in the text box then you can skip
this part of the installation)
Click the 'Add' button.
Double click on the 'Protocol' option or highlight the 'Protocol'
option, and hit the 'Add' button.
Highlight Microsoft in the 'Manufacturers' List box.
Highlight TCP/IP in the 'Network Protocols' list box.
Click the 'Ok' button.
Once the screen is returned to the 'Network' window click the 'Ok'
button.
Installing
Dial-Up Networking
(If Dial-up Networking already exists under Start/ Programs/
Accessories then you can skip this part of the installation
and move on to adding a Dial-up Networking profile) Place the
Windows 95' CD in your CD-ROM drive. (Or floppy disks).
Click Start/ Settings/ Control Panel.
Double click the 'Add/Remove Programs' icon. Click on the 'Windows
Setup' tab.
Highlight the 'Communications' entry in the list box and click the
'Details' button.
Check the box to the left of the 'Dial-Up Networking' entry in the
list box. (Make sure the box has a check in it).
Click the 'OK' button. The current window will disappear.
Click the 'OK' button on your current window.
Dial-Up Networking is now installed it is a good idea to reboot
your computer.
Adding
a New Dial-up networking Profile for AT Secure Net
First open the Dial-Up networking box by clicking
on My Computer / Dial-Up Networking
Choose Make New Connection.
Name your new connection, this will be the name of the icon that
is created. Next select a modem from the drop down box. Click Next
Enter the AT Secure Net phone number: 873-9877. Choose Next. On
the next screen choose Finish.
An icon with the name you typed is created in the Dial-Up networking
folder. You can now click on the icon to start your Internet connection.
Your are now completely set up to connect to AT
Secure Net.
